I won by roasting the COW!!!

As some of you may know…I love, LOVE, love entering sweepstakes, contests and giveaways. Occasionally I get a nice surprise in the mail but more often, I receive email notifications that I have won. It is always something cool, fantastic and even at times, amazingly incredible. Not that any one of them is less exciting than the other, just some of them I cross my fingers extra tightly to win.

My husband, kids and I have been very happy (sorry, that was an understatement…THRILLED) with what we receive, but it never crossed my mind to write a post about that; I figured I needed to start.

There are always giveaways out there and some of you may think that it’s not worth the effort to try because of odds, luck or what have you. I am here to say…go for it, sign up and try your luck. People do win and it’s a very fun and exciting thing TO do.

Since I sweep (no, not with a broom silly…although I should pick one of those up every once in a while) I have been lucky enough to stumble across some really great sites, blogs and forums that I still frequent well after the giveaways are over (by the way, they’re never really over…just new ones get started). One of the sites I speak of is johncow.com [and Keith James Lock's site, but I will save him for another post soon](it’s a site you just can’t help but add to your favorites); John Cow thinks of the reader and their future endeavors on the internet (explaining ways you can profit from your site/blog and then some). They often have cool giveaways and have always been more than generous with the prizes. Recently, John Cow had a roasting contest (roasting, if you’ve never heard of it, is a fun and non-offending way of making fun of a certain figure; in this contest, it was in reference to John Cow), anyways, the top prize was for a brand new Amazon Kindle (wireless reader) or 350.00 via PayPal [winners choice], but that wasn’t the only prize. Three additional prizes included (for three more winners): an account at Why Park where you can park upwards of 100 of your domain names along with free support, expert tips plus extras (a 100.00 value), a custom 125x125 banner from The Random Forest along with 30 days of free advertising at John Cow’s site (a 130.00 dollar value) and a Copy of Video Post Robot for yet another winner.

The giveaway ended yesterday and winners were announced shortly thereafter. What happened next was pure excitement for me…I won the Kindle (or choice of payment via PayPal for 350.00). As much as I wanted the Kindle since they are so-o-o cool, I opted for the 350.00 cash. I received notice last night that I had been chosen as one of the winners; I replied to the email with my choice and this morning I got the famous PayPal notice: Archon Media just sent you money with PayPal…WOW…talk about quick payment. I still want the Kindle though and WILL have my very own someday soon, but for now the money is what was needed and it has already come in handy. I have been all smiles and had to share this experience with everyone.

Now, just so you know; John Cow still has plenty going on so stop by the site, join the RSS feed and maybe you'll be the lucky winner of the next giveaway.
